July, 2007 Greetings: |
|
The last few months have been very busy for me with Easter observances at our local church, as well as finishing several writing commitments. I’m taking a few days to catch up with things I’ve pushed to one side. This message is one of them. In my last Update, I mentioned BROKEN BOW, a historical book with a Nebraska setting. This book was released during May, the same month we made our annual visit to Nebraska. Our relatives in Broken Bow hosted a book signing at the Custer County Library while we were there. Numerous people dropped by the library to visit and have their books autographed. It was a good experience. We saw friends we’ve known for years and made new acquaintances. The book was dedicated to the memory of my husband’s maternal and paternal grandparents who homesteaded in Nebraska during the 1880’s. And my next book to be released, in August, is MOUNTAINS STAND STRONG. This book is a historical HP with a West Virginia setting during the Civil War, when the counties which make up our state separated from eastern Virginia, rather than to fight for the Confederacy. This book is dedicated to the memory of my paternal and maternal grandparents who settled in western Virginia during the mid-1800’s. My 45th book and my 20th Steeple Hill title, MADE FOR EACH OTHER, will be released in July, 2008. At this time, I’ve made
commitments to attend . . . During my morning devotions, I always read from the Psalms, as well as other books of the Bible. This morning I read a meaningful passage, which I want to pass along to you, praying that it will bless you as it did me. “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.” (Psalm 51:10-12 NIV) God bless all of you today. Please pray for me. Irene Brand
